AI, Security, and Compliance: A Practical Guide

Security

The first rule of AI security: your private data should never train someone else's model without explicit consent. Use enterprise API tiers with data-retention controls and zero-retention options where available.

Apply least-privilege access everywhere. Agents should only reach the systems they truly need, with scoped credentials and full audit logging.

For regulated industries, design for compliance from the start — HIPAA, SOC 2, and GDPR each have concrete technical requirements that are far cheaper to build in than to retrofit.

Security isn't a blocker to shipping AI; it's what makes shipping AI sustainable. Bake it in and you can move fast with confidence.
